Help - pigeon poo is driving me insane!!!

Until recently I thought our two very much in love collared doves were beautiful and their companionship loving and enviable. Now that I have erected our daughter's 12' trampoline however I am less than inspired! The doves have bred and roost on the top of the netting. They poo all over the trampoline and even if I clean it everyday, they still roost and S*t all over it. This is driving me insane as I can't keep on top of my house work and kids as it is, let alone constantly cleaning a trampoline!

Does any one have any ideas as to how to stop them roosting? The trampoline has 8 foot horizontal bars up in the air to support the safety netting and they sit on it. I have tried tying carrier bags around the top to flutter in the wind tbut they take no notice. I feel like buying myself an air rifle and screaming "get off my land" as I shoot like something out of a red neck film - please help before I go crazy!!! (RSPB informants please note I am joking!)

the birds in our garden are driving me mad as well... they ate all the cherries off the tree and then have the cheek to do their cherry poops on my patio.

hanging CDs is supposed to help - we've not had the chance to do this yet. i was also going to try a wind chime, not sure whether that will work or drive the neighbours crazy!
