Am I the only one who hates doing laundry?

Not even the washing part, but sorting everything beforehand... Lights, darks, towels, delicates… how do you guys actually do your laundry? Do you separate everything or just throw it all in and hope for the best lol

Laundry is my favourite job! Lovely fresh clothes and bedding, minimum effort! I separate into 'darks' and 'lights' and either line dry or use a heated airer.

I just do it as needed, put underwear, leggings etc straight in the washer & do a wash when I have a reasonable amount, then straight in the dryer. Bedding goes straight from the bed in the washer, then dried & in the airing cupboard.

I have a washing basket which has two sides (light/dark) and anything delicate goes in to a padded washing bag and the into light/dark side. Towels I wash on towel washing day.

Once a week on a Sunday . . .

DH does it 🤷 Genuinely, I rarely touch it.

I love bringing in fresh, clean washing after it's been in the sun and wind all day.

My favourite job. Machines that do it all for you. Always separate lights from dark as I hate dingy whites.

I don’t mind the laundry but I absolutely loathe hoovering and cleaning the bathroom

I don’t mind the washing and drying but after that I lose the plot a bit!
I am however religious about sorting. Whites, darks, colours, sports kit, bedding, towels, jeans and other heavy stuff, tea towels and cloths and finally wool.

Throw it all in with a colour catcher

I separate into piles of whites, towels/bedsheets/underwear (to be washed at 60 degrees) and everything else.

I do hate the folding, putting away and hanging up part though! And organising socks.

I don’t sort anything apart from doing towels and bedding separately

Laundry is one of my favourites . Unless something is new and needs washing on its own I sort by non tumble dry clothes / tumble dry clothes / towels and bedding . I don’t iron , so anything that needs ironing goes to the ironing lady .

I just do whites and colours.

Hate hanging it up on the clothes horse when weather is no use for line drying

Having to sit around waiting on the washer just to switch to the dryer is so annoying for me

Excellent. My DH is also our laundry person, he doesn't seem to mind ironing either. (He's also chief cook,much better than me)

I've once hated laundry but ever since i've got AI laundry system, it becomes my favorite part of whole houseworks. I love its fresh and new scent.

I just shove it all in. I hate putting it away, up until the point it comes back in the house it's all going well then it's just a backlog of baskets of clean washing waiting to be sorted. I would pay someone to come once a week and put all my weeks washing away.

Love washing and chuck everything in except whites which I try to wash separately. I wash pretty much daily. I love nothing more than putting it all on the line on a dry windy day and then bringing it in and ironing it. Sad I know, I need a hobby 🤣

I separate into darks, whites, and lights. Most days I do one load, maybe two. Dry on a clothes horse with a dehumidifier or if the weather is ok on the line. When dry I fold and put into piles and put it away. I don’t mind now I’ ve got a system. The size of the clothes horse and using only one basket keeps the system moving. I rarely use the tumble dryer.
