Simply, does anyone have any experience or recommendations?

Yes. Eufy.
does depend on your floors. We had one upstairs and one down, they went around everyday and made a massive difference.

however, we then moved to an old property with uneven floors and different steps and levels, so they don’t really work for us now.

for most properties though I totally recommend, they are a game changer

Doing up our house and on the ground floor (where the dog sheds most of his floof) we will have stone and wood, both with rugs. All on an even level. So the Eufy would work for that?
I do like the sound of ‘game changer!

We have a Roborock that goes round the whole flat, vacuums and mops returning to the base to empty and wash mops as needed. We have cats and a dog, so we have it set to empty and wash mops half way through cleaning rather than just at the end. It's scheduled for just after we get up and we run it again if needed, but more often just one or two rooms. Every couple of days, I empty the dirty water and top up with clean (+ knockoff Roborock detergent) and every few days, I clean it and swap the filter.

They're regularly on deals on Amazon and elsewhere and an unbranded kit with spare bags, brush, filter etc is easily available. We don't have any rugs or carpets, but it's brilliant at avoiding obstacles and, I think, automatically, raises mops for rugs.

Eufy is brilliant, but I found the more expensive Roomba a better option as it was far less likely to get caught up with cables and shoelaces. But avoid any with a self emptying bin if you have dog floof. They are really bad at pulling floof into the main bin.

We have an older Eufy and a roborock edge 2, both have their pluses. The eufy is like a hardy vacuuming workhorse, and more brawn than brain. Just send it off and it bounces around vacuuming and returns to base when tired. It doesn’t go off stair edges but also doesn’t have very sensitive sensors, so can push its way under a bit of fabric etc to go under things (which is a plus for our set up). It mostly lives upstairs now, but will often bring it downstairs to do a first round floor clean as it just gets on with it.
The roborock you map the space and then can select where you want cleaned (vacuum and/or mop), and tweak settings like direction and how much water etc. It empties the dustbin itself into the base unit rubbish bag (which compacts a lot, takes ages before needs a change) and washes and dries the mop heads. It can sense where there are rugs and carpet and lift the mop heads and just vacuum those. The edge 2 model we have can adjust its height to go under our cabinet and couch (which another Roborock we had couldn’t). Definitely worth doing a good measurement check of furniture and compare with the robot vacuums you’re considering.
Another plus with the edge is that it has a double roller, which surprisingly does what it said on the tin, namely prevent loads of hair just winding around the roller. Spent a bit of time unravelling our last one (qrevo I think it was)
Also, a general robot vacuum tip, at the start really look critically at the space and do whatever adjustments are needed to be able to send it off as quickly as possible eg getting cables permanently out of the way.
I am fond of both the eufy and Roborock, they really do make a difference, especially with pets.

Definitely get a mop one, we have Roborock edge too and it’s brilliant. Has made a big difference to us

I have a Roomba and a Lefant.

The roomba can map out the different rooms and can be programmed to do certain areas either vac, mop or both. With the Lefant I can only set its start times and they both return to their dock when they're done.

Roomba is rubbish at driving over things and getting stuck. Lefant has much better dodging capabilities and has never needed rescuing. For this reason the roomba lives upstairs and the Lefant downstairs where there's more clutter.

Roomba will self empty, Lefant needs his bin pulling out. Both have similar running times battery wise.

Both do a good job keeping on top of Labrador and Mali hair.

I have a roborock qrevo. The one that mops and hoovers and has a base where it empties itself. It's pretty good and keeps on top of things.
