How to clean windows (inside)

Our house has six glass doors/windows overlooking the garden.

I currently clean them with windows cleaning spray and a clean tea towel - is there a better way?

The window cleaning devices I have seen online seem to be for dealing with condensation- which we don't really get.

Thank you!

I use some glass cleaner, and with a microfibre cloth go over any sticky handprints or other particularly grim bits (toddler).

Then I do an all over light spritz and go over with the window vac. They come up streak free and it is super quick.

There’s no short cut unfortunately. Glass cleaner, microfibre cloths and elbow grease

I use window e-cloths, they come as a pair - one for washing (just with water) one to buff off. Still hard work but no streaks or chemicals (probably micro plastics you can't win).

I use wi dow spray and a minky glass cloth. Takes seconds.

I wan't sure about getting a Karcher window cleaner, but honestly, I wouldn't be without it now. It's a matter of minutes to do my windows, where before I would really have to be in the mood to do them, now I don't think about it. It's definitely worth getting their cleaning spray as well.

Karcher window vac does the job here. Takes minutes. Use their cleaning liquid too.

Have been thinking about getting one of these. What model do you use/recommend please?

Another vote for a Karcher. They are great.

I use hot water and washing up liquid.
Then I squeegee them.
Quick and efficient.

FinishedAtFifty · 03/10/2026 18:20

I was put off the Karcher as it said there is a risk your windows could crack?

I have a karcher window vac which is quite good. But then I got these and they are a game changer. So easy to use with just water and no streaks!

Very hot water with fairy. Apply with microfibre cloth. Karcher off. If needed, final polish with a glass cloth.
Although my windows are currently filthy. The whole house needs done, as well as both cars and I keep procrastinating.

I use this to help me, I put some fairy liquid in the bottle and off I go, really easy and never streaky. Beldray LA024275TQ Window Squeegee – amzn.eu/d/03MixiQa
