Kitchen roll & any cleaning fluid I have handy.
I do mine every other wash. I give it a really good wipe out but it’s never very dirty.

I always leave door propped open to allow machine drum to dry out.
I use Aldi powder.
I rarely use fabric conditioner.

I think you just have to get a new one. I tried lots of cleaning products on mine to no avail. Leave it open when not in use.

I use elbow grease spray on a damp cloth. Brilliant stuff.

I've never managed to get the black mildew out, I think it goes into the molecules of the rubber. I gather it's better to use powder than liquid detergent, and no softener, dry the seal after use and keep the door open when not in use, - as a preventative. You can also get mildew resistant seals, I've had one fitted and so far okay - it's also a darker grey so any mildew would be less visible.

I've just got a new Bosch washer, unfortunately it developed a leak at 10 days old. When the engineer came to sort it our he told me about Bosch having their own washing machine cleaner which is stronger than the ones you can buy in the supermarkets, it cost me £21 for a years supply, he says it will clean everything inside the washer & contains stuff to dissolve any hair caught in the filters or door seals, I just need to give them a wipe after the cleaning cycle is finished. Look on your manufacturer's website to see if they sell their own cleaners.
