Can you recommend a dehumidifier?

I need a dehumidifier for my house. We cook loads and it's always damp. We don't have the heating on enough.

We already have a dehumidifier for the coldest/dampest room but I want one for the porch. It has no ventilation, and is open to another room with no ventilation, which is open-plan to the kitchen/diner which is always full of moisture and where the big windows don't open (airflow is poor).

Can anyone recommend a type of dehumidifier?

Any of the meaco ones. They work well if you need to have them close to a wall, which sounds like it would be the case for where you want it.

Do you have an extractor fan in the kitchen? One that actually goes outside, not just recirculates the damp air.
When we had cavity wall insulation installed they insisted on putting extractors in the kitchen and bathroom. They are super quiet and are on all the time, apparently they automatically detect the moisture level and adjust their power accordingly. Might be worth trying to get something like that as well?

Meaco too - we have had one for several years now, originally bought after a flood, now used for drying washing mostly, but also if the kitchen is getting steamy and it's too cold to have the door open. Reliable, efficient and puts out warm air which is great for those times when the heating isn't on yet.
