Best way to clean hard floors - tiles and lvt

Hi all.

I’m going round in circles trying to find the best way to clean our hard floors. We have tiles in bathrooms, kitchen and hallway and LVT in the living room. I’d ideally like something I can use effectively on both.

what are people’s recommendations? Ideally looking for something that doesn’t leave the floors wet

I use a spray mop. It doesn’t leave the floor wet as such. It’s a light spray so dries in a couple of minutes. I do a steam clean once a month too again this dries very quickly.

I've got normal vinyl and use a steam cleaner once every couple of months to really get into the textured bits. I imagine it would be even better if I did it more often but I borrow it from my parents so the rest of the time it's a hoover and the normal mop.

I hoover then use a spray mop.

Are the spray mops good for moderate traffic areas, I just can let imagine how one pad can clean a large area effectively. I don’t want to use steam on the lvt

A microfibre spray mop (like a Bona or Vileda) is ideal for both tiles and LVT it mists just enough liquid to clean without soaking the floor, so it dries in under a minute. Avoid steam mops on LVT as high heat damages the glue. In my work with MCH, a simple pH-neutral cleaner is always our go-to for keeping tiles spotless without ruining LVT finishes.

I have a robot hoover that hoovers first and then mops.

Robovac & mop. Much, much easier and you can program them to do it overnight or when you go out.

I have a vileda spray mop for general use but I steam clean my karndean flooring at least once a week when it's wet and muddy outside. It's absolutely fine and hasn't damaged or lifted it at all in 16 years.
