Descaling fixed shower heads - am I missing something?

I am pretty sure I posted about this once before but I can’t remember what responses I got!

I live in a hard water area and so limescale is a big problem. To be honest, it’s quite easy to manage except for my shower! I have one of those showers with a hand held shower and also a fixed shower head. Every six months or so some of the little holes start getting blocked up with limescale. The fixed shower head does not appear to unscrew and so I have developed a technique of tying a strong plastic bag with limescale remover around the shower head. It works really well but it’s a bit of a faff and I always wonder what other people do?

Kilrock make a gel limescale remover that you brush on https://www.therange.co.uk/household/cleaning/cleaning-products/multi-purpose-cleaners/kilrock-gel-descaler-160ml

@seawolves thanks for reminding me about that gel. I have tried it once before and didn’t find it that good on the shower but I am going to use it in a couple of other places.
