Autumn Refresh

Morning all,

Does anyone fancy keeping me company and doing an Autumn Refresh with me?

I am a lone parent to 1DC, live in a 2 bed property which I feel constantly needs my attention, but time poor and tbh, I am a perfectionist so small issues continue to pray on my mind (that is another story). The last few years I have patched bits, but its starting to get me down and I want to freshen everything up, reorganise, make the spaces work for us as we are out of the toddler stage and feel the house/ rooms hold a different purpose now.

Just posting as I often feel overwhelmed, start various tasks, have limited people to talk to in real life, and want to make a huge improvement to our home and well-being. If no one replies that is fine, it might just give me the space to babble to myself and show progress.

My aim for today is child's room - paintwork around the window is patchy so freshening that up, need to paint the bedroom door as lots of scuffs and marks due to toys etc. If I have time, will freshen up the wall by the bed as you can see the finger prints / foot marks. Why do kids have to put their feet on the walls during story time?

Leaves the ceiling to do tomorrow as never been touched since moving in and its so patchy and awful!

Do people go room by room? Or task similar jobs together?

That sounds like a great project! How did today go?

MrsBird03 · 30/08/2026 18:05

Thank you :) i did the bedroom door, and also half of my door, and the bathroom door so they all look fresher and cleaner. Also did the window sill as I removed the plants to dust and horrible yellow stains underneath. I didn't get to the walls today or ceiling, but hopefully tomorrow.
