Candy washing machine being awkward

I have a Candy GD 48Sg 8 kg washing machine. I usually wash most things at 40 degrees for roughly an hour on my previous machine with good results. This new machine however has a mind of its own! I programme it for what I want but it changes to a longer cycle. Does anyone have this machine and can tell me how to make it do want I want?

Most machines these days will only do a short wash on a very small load. If you have a full load it will automatically adjust to a longer wash time.
