That ad is really confusing, what does it mean about not needing bed sheets?

We have 1 for an elderly relative. We can't fit a double one into their washing machine, only a single which doesn't look v good on their bed. But v practical for people who need to change bedding often or struggle with duvets and covers.

We use one in our campervan but it’s not as thick as the one you’ve linked

Another attempt at reinventing the wheel, and okay if you like non cotton bedding. Would never buy one in a million years

They are just polyester filled duvets with a printed or coloured outer layer rather than the standard silky microfibre/polyester outer you get on a lot of standard duvets.

It’s easier just to use a sheet under your duvet and a throw on top.

I guess it depends on the problem you're solving. If you have to deal with incontinence that means the duvet needs washing, then I suppose it's okay.

But a sheet then a duvet sounds better to me.

I’m thinking for student bedding

Surely it's easier to just change and wash a duvet cover at the same time as you wash the bottom sheet and the pillow cases. A duvet cover will dry a lot quicker than a duvet especially during the winter months. Also not everyone has a washing machine big enough to fit a double duvet and a 10 tog will not be warm enough for everyone during the colder months - I need a 13 tog.

If changing a duvet cover is really problematic then just do as others have suggested and put a top sheet under the duvet cover.

I have one and like it a lot. I have parkinsons disease and struggle to change king size duvet. My husband has a stoma and so i need to wash the whole thing sometimes. It washes well and dries quickly

I have one. I hate it. The material is like a sleeping bag unless you fork out for the cotton ones which are heavier and don’t fit in all washing machines and take longer to dry.

Dont you need a big washing machine for a double/king. Mine is 8kg i think.

I have a superking one and can wash it in my washing machine, Bosch 10kg. I don’t particularly like the fabric, it was pretty expensive but I have a disability that limits me so it is definitely easier to change the bed.

I bought one for DS as he hates changing the cover. Its king size and won't fit in the machine so he had to take it to a launderette

Yes it's cheap polyester filling and outer.

I've got two Superking ones, a 2.5 tog and a 4 tog. They just about fit into the washing machine but my winter duvet is a 7.5 tog and I can't wash that at home (machine load is 9kg) so I've not got a winter weight one. They're a godsend in the summer, wash them once a fortnight and they're dry in an hour outside.
