Are iDos washing machines with detergent containers worth buying?

Can anyone tell me about iDos machines - the ones that have a container of washing liquid and fabric conditioner

Are they good, bad or what!

I have a Bosch one. I like it. But I think Bosch are generally decent I don’t think the idos makes a huge difference to how much I like it.

I know several people who own them. One is my brother who just bought the most expensive Bosch on the JL website as he was short of time (we get on but he is cash rich, time poor and has a tendency to be patronising). They all continue to use regular laundry detergent.

When I replaced my machine recently I basically bought the same machine as my brother but skimped on the iDos as based on the experiences above I thought I wouldn't use it. And then because I read the manual was able to explain to him about the built in "ironing" programme which his machine has too.

His gratitude about this discovery is touchingly profound.

As an aside I've been surprised at how much joy a new, better, washing machine has brought me. It's the first one I've got to choose in my adult life as all the others simply came with the property I'd bought and I hadn't been able to justify replacing a functional machine.
