New Miele cat and dog vacuum cleaner keeps cutting out - faulty?

I bought a new vacuum cleaner about 6 months ago- Miele cat and dog - and it is brilliant. However, it keeps overheating and cutting out which doesn’t seem right. I empty the dust regularly and make sure the filter etc is kept clean.

Just wondering if I should return it but a quick online search showed it is not uncommon with Miele.

Anyone had a similar experience with a Miele?

I have the same vacuum and it does cut out when it gets overheated. It happened a few times and I was getting pretty huffy and then I realised there is a second filter that needed cleaning and that seemed to resolve the issue. So maybe check if there is a filter you haven't found yet?

I have a Miele vacuum and it needs cleaning out regularly to stop it overheating. I clean the filter, change the filters if needed, wash out the collecting bin and anything else that can go in the sink.

Mine has a filter which is sort of pleated. You have to get all the dust out it. I had same problem until I realised I wasn’t cleaning it properly

Ah ok! I will check again and see that I have located all of the filters and that I am cleaning them properly.

@ppaaWWss you were right! I discovered a filter I’d never seen before and yes it was a pleated thing @tiredofworking ! So given the foam pad and pleated thing a rinse and cleaned all the other bits out too. Hopefully it will fix the issue if I keep on top of it. Thanks!

I buy the Miele hoover bags and the boxes come with one set of new filters which I change every time I use the first new bag from the box.
