Last week I found a maggot on the kitchen floor. Cue a huge deep clean of the kitchen I found 3 more under the kitchen bin and several more in the food waste caddy.
Everything was taken outside scrubbed and bleached. Maggots collected up in a bag and incinerated.
Yesterday I came home from work to a kitchen with around 12 to 14 flies. Most went out the window and I zapped the rest with the zapper. I showered re entered the kitchen and 5 more appeared.
Im on night shift so shortly went to bed but DP reported that he had an evening chasing flies in the kitchen. When I got up at midnight for work ....3 were in the kitchen!! All the same size and type of fly.
I am dreading getting home at lunchtime today to see how many we'll have.
Ive ordered fly traps, fly papers but how do I find the source and what the hell do I do?
Any experience and pearls of wisdom appreciated.
I have for now removed all damp dish cloths. Emptied bins. Chucked bleach down the sink.
I am.planning to empty then kitchen move appliances and clean everywhere again but any advice appreciated. My kitchen is vvv warm. South facing flat roof extension. Its v warm.despite the black put blind blocking the sun.
I feel disgusted.
