Slatterns only- would you tidy up if it was just the child coming fro a playdate, sans parents?

Well?
I can't be bothered- it looks okay but not shiny

No way - I'd just make sure any breakables were out the way. I would make sure it was basically clean but certainly wouldn't exert myself!

And if it was a nice day I would do nowt and just send them out to the garden!

Clean the toilet. We had a little boy round to play and there was one of DP's pubes on the rim of the toilet and he commented on it being dirty . Probably told his mum as he hasn't been allowed round again.

Yes, DP should have picked up his pube post wee but I didn't spot it first and didn't expect anyone round. Now I always give the loo a quick going over if I know anyone's coming over.

No way.

meemar · 27/06/2008 13:21

No - and make the mum stand on the doorstep when she comes to collect

Lol @ Brangelina

I'd make sure DS's room was tidy and the toys where all away, children are more likely to play calmly and sensibly if it's all tidy to start with, I've found. It's also easier to make sure they tidy up before they go home if they and DS can see what they've been playing with and they know where it goes.

I wouldn't bother cleaning especially though, but that's different from tidying isn't it?

sagacious · 27/06/2008 15:39

Girl yes, boy no. IME girls have a tendency to ask questions like "Why have your kitchen cupboards got those funny smears all over them?" and "Isn't your bedroom messy? My mum's bedroom is tidy."

OrmIrian · 27/06/2008 16:14

Actually to be fair it's only one girl that has ever said anything like that. And she's here now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed she doesn't run her fingers over any surfaces and tut at cobwebs

Tortington · 27/06/2008 16:15

would i fuck

dylsmum1998 · 27/06/2008 22:22

ormirian- lol just to prove your point wrong i have a friend with twins 1 girl 1 boy, they both came to play- unexpectedly sprang on me at school gate- and it was a mess. little girl cam ein oh wow i've not seen those toys before, little boy upon coming in its a mes in here isnt it . he was right! in my defence i had dragged everything out of a cupboard to sort and tidy it, and got lost in there and realised i was gonna be late for school so ran out door leaving it everywhere

cornsilk · 27/06/2008 22:23
