Non-chemical oven cleaning tips

Does anyone have any great non-chemical oven cleaning tips? I need to do it myself and I can't use Oven pride etc.

Have tried bicarb of soda paste but it hasn't touched it.

The Pink Stuff and elbow grease. It helps if the oven isn't stone cold too so that any deposits are not rock hard. I use a glass hob scraper to clean the glass door with. Don't forget the seals, they usually have gunk in them too. Check your manual and remove the door. It makes access so much easier.

Is it safe to use pink stuff on the door, as well?

Why can't you use Oven Pride? It's not volatile and the only risk is that it causes burns if you get it on your skin (or if you ingest it). So you need to cover all skin with gloves/thick clothing.

Pink stuff is a non hazardous abrasive so yes, it's safe.

Get rid of the oven and buy a pyrolytic one - they're magic.

There is an internet tip about heating the oven and putting a dish with water in, and cut up lemons. The lemony steam is supposed to loosen the dirt. But I haven’t done it yet
