How do you stop your beach parasol blowing away?

Bloody windy at the beach at the weekend. no one else's parasol looked as dodgy as mine despite my best efforts.

do you all have secret tricks ?

Do you have a base for the parasol? We use a water filled one. Just fill it with sea water and empty when you leave.

We have a sand anchor - like a corkscrew that goes into the sand - and it works well. It is a pain to carry around though. Some umbrellas come with them attached.
