Decluttering AFTER house move

We did some decluttering before but are doing more now.
Any tips welcome.
I feel pretty overwhelmed to be honest.
There's only 2 adults here full time. Ds2 stays weekends occasionally when on leave. Ds1 stays now and again. Dgcs very rarely overnight.

We have a fridge freezer,a fridge and a chest freezer. We're getting rid of the fridge and chest freezer. The kitchen is bigger but less cupboards so we're buying a free standing larder for now. Kitchen refit in the future.

I've got rid of so much. I'm not overly sentimental so hasn't been hard in that way.

Has anyone else successfully decluttered after moving?

Not after moving, but I did declutter my loft with 3 kids worth of stuff, and a DH that collects crap.
Knowing how much stuff was up there was weighing on me, I’d lie in bed at night imagining the whole lot dropping down on me. Then I read about Swedish death cleaning and decided that I didn’t want to leave it until I physically couldn’t do it, and I definitely didn’t want to leave it for my kids to do when I die.
I decided to be ruthless, and I was !
The one thing that upset me to throw was the kids cot. I’d kept it in the hope that I’d put my grandchildren in it one day, but found it had black stuff on it, so it had to go. I couldn’t throw the pram though.
All that’s left now is DH’s crap which is in boxes and will be thrown before his body is cold ! And the kids toys, and they can do what they want with them.

@PersephoneParlormaid I've been inspired by Swedish death cleaning too. I can't stand the thought of leaving all of this for dcs to get rid of. Ours are adults.

The charity shops are getting lots on Monday.

I have a ‘charity’ pile in the dressing room and I aim to fill up our household bin with the real crap before it gets taken. It’s mostly my husband’s stuff that we’ve carried in unopened boxes through a few house moves. I had enough of them.

I've just put Hoarder SOS on channel 4. Episode1. The guy is making me feel like a minimalist🤣 It's sounding like he may get rid of lots though?

😳 Another couple are on this episode. Their beautiful home is chocka with clutter. They have a spending addiction.

I'm looking at our 'stuff ' now and honestly not feeling too bad.

I'm still going to get rid of lots though. I have got rid of a lot already.

We've just moved house. I thought we'd done significant decluttering before we moved, but unpacking the boxes now has made me realise how much more there was to do!

What has helped as I'm unpacking is every time I reach into a box and pull something out I think - am I happy to see this again? Where is this going to live in our new place? If it's not immediately obvious I'm putting it in an ikea bag to donate, or bin/recycle.

@Xiaoxiong yes I'm doing similar. And trying not to keep duplicates.
