Rug backing has made LVT floor slippery, how can I clean it?

We got a rug last Christmas after moving.. it’s one of those tufted-all-in-one without the underlay. We have LVT flooring. One time a few months after getting it I was vacuuming under the rug and actually walked on that bit on the floor and I sliddd… it was like ice under my feet. The backing must have rubbed off on the floor where we walk but the floor itself looks fine, the rug backing is fine and not melted or disintegrated.
i contacted the company for cleaning advice, they said it’s unfortunate reaction between the backing and the floor, and offered a refund.
i tried wet wipes, floor wipes, flash wipes, diluted washing liquid and microfibre. I tried to ‘exfoliate’ with dry microfibre also. What next? Chatgpt suggests vinegar or rubbing alcohol… has anyone had this happen?
I think at the moment it’s not an issue while the rug stays there, but if we were to move I’d obviously have it cleaned professionally or worse have to replace the entire flooring which is a massive pain cos it’s like 10m by 5m living kitchen situation and idk if anyone would replace a few planks lol

Try using Foxy underlay.

You can get a non slip sealant for LVT floors. If you were to move you could possibly just go over the patch or even the whole floor if necessary. I’d definitely get a spare plank put rug on wait for same reaction and then patch test with the sealant.
