Frying pans: 3 ply or 5ply?

Aftef a new strong stainless steel frying pan. Ive seen some pans at Costco that are apparently "3ply" and dont scratch or burn etc, but also saw some at John Lewis that claimed to be 5ply. I'm not sure whether to cough up for the 5ply or whether the 3 ply ive seen at TKmaxx are just as good. We go through fryjng pans quicklybecause the ds's burn them and scrubthe living daylights out of them. So im looking for pans that canstandthe test of of time. Before anyone suggests it, we've already tried cast iron pans but they're high maintenance and just didnt work.
