Spilt white spirit on carpet

I've tried soaking it up and sprinkling bicarb of soda on before vacuuming but it stinks! Has lifted carpet but not really stained but oh good grief the smell - can you help please?

how long did you leave bicarb for- perhaps leave it longer?

could try scrubbing wit bio wash powder

Thanks will try washing powder - left bicarbon overnight, vacuumed off and then re applied.

how did you get on?

Hi noy been on for couple of days - smell is diminishing - Had two attempts with washing powder - next stop might be shake and vac! It seems to go and then build up again. Thanks for advice though - worked better than bicarb!
