Oh my lord has anyone experienced a massive amount of ants this year?!?!

I leave my downstairs window open for my cat, and they are coming in from there. I have blitzed the place clean, seemed to work for a day as I sprayed white vinegar all over the window and window sill but they’re back again!!! GET OUT WTH!!

I’ve tried to see where they are coming from in the garden but tbh there are so many cracks and gaps in my patio I can’t work it out. I’ve searched sprays etc to buy but don’t want to waste my money trying hundreds.. any advice anyone?

Yes. Loads round here this year. We've tried a few things that work for a day or so but then theyre back.

I leave them alone. They are harmless. They disappear eventually.
Editing to add that we keep foods covered and clean worktops regularly.

I leave them alone if there is the odd couple, don’t get me wrong but there has been so many. I can’t stand the thought of them crawling everywhere and over my son’s toys. They (thankfully) aren’t even in my kitchen, it’s my living room! 😣 it’s all started from me doing some gardening about a week ago, since then they’ve been everywhere

We use bait stations which have usually been good albeit I saw two fuckers in a cupboard earlier today 😱

Bait traps poison them in their nests. I got some today because I found them inside the honey 😭

So do I but when sitting down to lunch they swarmed our table top. Sometimes you have to get rid of pests.

Loads here too. We use the nippon bait stations, £3 for two in Asda and they have all disappeared really quickly.

We used these ones too. The first didn’t seem to do the job but the second they were gone the next day.

They hate the smell of peppermint oil. Wipe some along the door/window frame where they're coming in and put a few drops on cotton wool balls nearby (out of reach of pets/kids) and they'll stop coming in.
