I need to replace my kitchen worktop. Live in a very hard water area in high rise flats ten floors.

Want to know best type of work too that won’t show the white water marks so much. Or any other solution. Thanks.

Hard water is a bastard. I'm in Lincolnshire where its so hard it comes out of the taps carrying a Kalashnikov.

We've given in and fitted a softener machine.

We’ve got granite tops. Took 8 men to lift the biggest island piece in 🫣😂 I watched with my heart in my throat!
10 years later it still looks absolutely immaculate, exactly as it did the day it was installed.

We have a corian worktop- also live in Lincs so hard water area. It is great - we have a light colour so doesn’t show many marks. Any marks there are can be easily removed with cif ( dried in tea stains thanks to dh!)

OTOH we have a dark (black with white speckle) Corian worktop. Amazing stuff, we have had it 25 years and it is as good as new, but the limescale ... 😟

Parents are in a (according to Google) very hard water area.

They've got Howdens laminate, decent fairly expensive (for laminate) stuff and 8 years on it’s spotless.

We have white quartz with speckles and a tiny sparkle. Vinegar spray is your friend against hard water.

Calacatta gold quartz here.

Hard water.

Looks perfect.
Recommend light colored worktops like this

If you're in a hard water area, I would fit a water softener, it will make the biggest difference to the whole house.
