vegetable oil on leather shoes

DS3 found the cooking oil again and this time managed to spill some on my rather nice brown leather mules. They have a shiny finish. I've put some leather cleaner that I had on them but the oil drop stain is still there.

Any ideas as to how to get rid of them?

TIA

How about rubbing talc into the oil patch? It may absorb the oil. It works on material, but am not sure about leather.

hmm thanks - the thing is that the leather is that shiny sort (sounds horrible but they realy are very nice!) so I'm not sure if that would work. However, I will go and try it - thanks
