anna888 that was my style in my single days too

ChippyMinton · 22/06/2008 10:40

i was looking at those Ikea units last night (never do Ikea on a weekend daytime!). The Bravad ones have drawers which close quietly, and deep pan drawers, and a lovely corner unit, which would sell them to me (if we ever get round to doing our kitchen)

Amphibimum · 22/06/2008 10:40

if youre in edinburgh and you have about 35k to spare (judging by prices on the site) you can get this chalon ex display kitchen for 25% off... marvellous eh?

maidamess · 22/06/2008 10:59

noddy I havent even got shelves . Couldn't even bear to have them . I was going for the 'Pure English' look on a Homebase budget. And got it I think!

noddyholder · 22/06/2008 11:17

I like no shelves look too that pure english look is stunning when done right.I shall have a homebase budget if we ever find a house but am insisting on a utility and a larder in order to keep that look!

noddyholder · 22/06/2008 11:19

maidamess where did you get your units?I am thinking of a carpenter (local) as it i so much cheaper and can't bear not to have in frame cupboards

maidamess · 22/06/2008 14:42

I have MFI units! They have a very nice inframe type, bone coloured with dark pewter cup handles. Can't think what its called. I had their super thick oak worktop and B&Q hand scraped oak boards on t'floor. I love my kitchen!!

maidamess · 22/06/2008 14:43

One massive larder cupbaoard, 8 base cupbaords and all appliances for £6500 ish.

SheherazadetheGoat · 22/06/2008 16:35

been to ikea and decided on impractical bravad sink unit hurrah!

maidamess I remember your kitchen thread and it sounds like you got a fab result.
Can you link to the units you have, are they on the MFI site? How is the quality?
I also really want in frame units for our planned kitchen but cannot afford the Plain English range .

maidamess · 22/06/2008 19:19

Panna the links are not good, the pic is tiny. But the kitchen was called Kelmscott and it comes in white (not a pure white, much nicer) and in the pics it has huge long modern handles.

We chose the cup handles. The doors have a nice grained look to them, (not limed).

I'm really impressed with the quality. And they've got a sale on at the moment!

noddyholder · 22/06/2008 19:21

did you get them to fit it?

maidamess · 22/06/2008 19:23

No, my builders did it. The main guy was a chippie so I knew it would be ok. The only prob I had was them trying to deliver it in dribs and drabs but I got arsey and they sorted it.

Pannacotta · 22/06/2008 20:42

Looks v smart maidamess, will add that to my favourites, thanks!
if I were to get an unfitted kitchen think I'd go for Habitat, they have a smart, modern oak range which looks v swish.
But am still unconvinced about how easy they are to keep clean, think fitted looks sleeker too.
