Sweeping and cleaning hard floors: tips please!

How do you keep on top of cleaning hard floors? Do I have to sweep them (with a broom) to collect up bird seed, fluff, dirt, etc. and then go over them with a mop every other day or is there a better way of handling this?

I only want to spend half an hour a day keeping on top of my housework and at the moment I feel like I could spend most of this time just doing the floor.

Sweep every day. Mop when it becomes unbearable. My standards are low.

Don’t you just hoover? And then mop when you absolutely have to?

I use a Vileda dry mop which does a good job with dust, crumbs and dog hair. Thereafter I use method wood floor cleaner and a vileda wet mop.

I have used Bona also but it never seemed clean

Got cats. The hairs need removing before vacuuming otherwise the vac gets full too quickly and I hate vacuuming.

We have a Eufy, it’s on a timer so automatically hoovers the ground floor every day. I just sit back and let it do the work!

Eufy robot vac

Robot vac and mop, goes off automatically every day in the evening. Floors need mopping maybe once a week on top of this.

Cordless hoover in a readily accessible place.. little and often.
Much more appealing than hauling out a corded vacuum.
I don’t really mop very often though…

Thanks so much: this is excellent Intel!

When our scared of everything hound goes, I’ll get a eufy, until then a cordless hoover most days and ‘big’ hoover once a week.

Also have a spray mop which is not used quite as much as it should be! Although it was daily with all the rain we’ve had this winter.

Thanks everyone: looks like a eufy and a weekly mop is the way to go. I appreciate all your advice!
