Washer dryers that work?

Hi, hope for some up-to-date recommendations as my 7yr old hotpoint was crap at drying and needs replacing. I hear newer models are much better.

I KNOW that generally they are shite but we are where we are with living constraints so please don’t suggest ‘dry it outside’ or just ‘hang it indoors’ 😂

Anyone got a newer model that does a good job of drying? Only use drying function for towels/ bed linens and socks/ pants.

I replaced an old washer dryer last year and the difference compared to older machines is noticeable. They are still not as strong as a separate dryer, but for towels and bedding they work fine if you use them correctly. The biggest issue is usually overloading. Most machines can wash around 8–9 kg but only dry about 5–6 kg properly.
If you keep the drying load smaller, the results are much better. I normally wash a full load, then take a few items out before starting the drying cycle. Towels and bed linen usually come out fully dry that way.
I’ve had good results with LG models. A friend has a Bosch combo and says it dries towels and socks without problems too.
