Avoid LG for washing machines

Warning, do not purchase a washing machine from LG. The washing machine was delivered on Wednesday, we paid for installation. As soon as the first test cycle finished the waste pipe leaked and flooded my kitchen!
The overseas customer service will not remove the machine for at least another 4 days which means I cannot purchase a new machine. I have repeatedly asked to speak to a manager as I want the machine gone asap. No manger available. The website won’t allow you to send an email, which is frustrating. I have been told the refund will take 2 weeks and I will still be charged for the installation cost. Cheek!!
You as a customer are told there is nothing they can do…really you have delivered a faulty machine and I have been told to wait until LG can collect in the meantime I am without a washing machine☹️

Can't agree, I've had 3 LG washing machines over the last 27 years and they have been fab...real work horses

How annoying. Couldn't they just get someone to come and replace the waste pipe? We've had stuff from LG before with no problems thankfully.

I don't think its the washing machine that's faulty.... sounds more like a plumbing problem

Maybe there is a problem with the waste pipe and the installation not the actual machine?

Love mine. Sounds like a plumbing issue. Can you change the waste pipe? Who installed it?

If it was a "test" cycle, weren't the installers still there? Did they not check what the problem was?

LG all the way for me. Last machine 19 years old, this one 3 years and counting. Great machines, and your issue sounds like sub contract installer issue.

Are you sure this isn’t an installation/ plumbing issue? I have had lg for years and multiple appliances and they have been very good.

The installers did a test run but left before it drained, leaving me with a flooded kitchen. The contracted installer returned today and confirmed the waste pipe has a hole in it. They told me I have to call LG as it is not an installation error.
On LG website you have a choice of WhatsApp which is a bot. Email that doesn’t actually send, it reverts back to the front page. Last option, is a phone call to the overseas customer service dept. I managed to eventually speak to someone only to be told we have to wait for someone to contact us for collection, could be a week or more. So I cannot order a new one until they collect this one.😡 The installation fee will not be refunded either. In the meantime I am without a mchine.

If LG had been more helpful on the phone I would have been happy with a replacement waste pipe. Instead they now have a very unhappy customer.

My LG washing machine was absolutely awful. No local repair men would touch it. Don’t buy one!

My LG machine is 4 years old. Had a faulty part on it, luckily it had an extended warranty which they hunted down for me. Engineer came out, fixed it and so far (touch wood!) she’s chugging along nicely. I would buy another in the future I think.
