Fridge freezer for garage

defnotadomesticgoddess · 16/03/2026 15:29

can anyone recommend a fridge freezer to put outside in our garage? All the ones I’ve seen so far say the room temperature has to be at least 10 degrees - so no good for a garage. Has anyone found one that will work? 🙏

We had a "normal" fridge/freezer outside in a garage for years. Currently have separates our garage with no apparent issue. When they do fail, I might look at one that says is for an outbuilding and therefore able to operate in lower temperatures, but if they are much dearer then I will get a normal one. People had them for years in garages and sheds without issue.

I have had a Beko one in my garage for 9 years now….never had a problem with it (despite the lecture from the delivery men) it’s similar to this one, and we got it as it was cheap (about £180) at the time, so if it did break it wasn’t the end of the world!!

Beko make a range of fridge freezers designed to work in the lower temperatures that you get in garages. We had a “normal” freezer outside for years but when it died we bought one that was meant for the job.

AO have a good selection and we have always found their service excellent. Edited to say I can’t add the link for some reason but you can filter on AO to show suitable for garages.

I've got a "normal" Bosch fridge freezer in the garage, in fact I have two! We have just changed out our Miele Fridge and seperate Freezer, which were also in the garage, for 25 years...... No issues. I always ignore those warnings. It doesn't get frosty in there, it does get cold, but not terribly.

Beko is well known for being outbuilding rated as others have said. When I was looking recently, AO allows you tod select outbuilding rated and I thought there was quite a bit of choice.

Thank you all. Have ordered a Beko one

We have a Beko fridge freezer - it was pretty cheap and it’s been there for about 12 years and still going strong.

In the winter I do check that the frozen section stays frozen and we have never had a problem. Because it isn’t opened and shut lots of times during the day (as it’s our spare fridge freezer) it is amazingly efficient.

Beko here too,one specifically for outdoor building.
