Clothes steamer and denim

Can anyone tell me how effective a clothes steamer would be on denim?
Since I have swapped out my skinny jeans for wide leg I am getting frustrated with the amount of ironing needed.
Thanks for any advice.

I find if it’s thick 100% cotton then an iron gives the best results. They need heat pressure directly on them to get rid of the creases. Steaming is best on lightweight fabrics I’ve found or woollens.
