Chemical smell

Just bought some fabric storage cubes from Aldi and the smell of chemicals that they must use whilst they are in the warehouse is really strong! Everything I put in them takes on the smell so currently avoiding putting anything made of material in them.

Anyone found a successful method to removing the odour? I've seen lots online saying use bicarb etc but I find its usually messy and doesn't work. I remember having a box that smelt like this years ago and ended up throwing it as the smell never went!

Maybe try spraying on some dettol aerosol Antibac spray on them and leave them outside for a bit on a dry day.

Thanks! I'll give that a try. Have you used it for that?

I had the same too when I bought some several years ago. Very pungent and chemically. Took quite a while for the smell to go away. I used lots of Febreeze spray and stacked them by open windows for the best part of a couple of weeks.
