Grimey toothbrush body - how to clean?

My electric toothbrush is a state. If I try and scrape the dirt off, it removes the rubber on the body of the brush. Any tips on how to clean it? Other than this, it works a treat!

No tips now but for once you get it clean (or give up and buy a new one), dry it off with a towel/cloth immediately after you use it every time. I do this and mine looks as good as new. It's not really a faff once you get into the habit.

A dish brush?

Yes agree to drying it off after use everytime. Use white vinegar to clean the handle - wrap the handle in kitchen paper soaked in vinegar and leave for a while and then the dirt should lift off more easily.

I give mine a quick rinse and wipe after every use and it never has build up. My DD on the other hand has one that sounds similar to yours. I keep a soft regular toothbrush in the drawer especially to clean hers with. You have to do it regularly though, don't wait for it to build up.
