Do you repair your washing machine?

I have an AEG washer drier, about 6 years old now. I have already had to repair the drier once, but again ig didn’t last long and hasn’t worked for a couple of years. Now the drum is not turning and it has stopped spinning. I have cleaned the filter and it’s made no difference. I am tempted to just replace it with a cheaper Beko (just a washing machine, not drier). Or should I pay for another repair? Not sure what’s best.

If the drum has stopped spinning it could just be worn brushes, a really cheap fix. DH used to replace ours himself.

That said, when the bearings went on ours, not a cost effective fix, an engineer actually recommended Beko as a good washing machine brand. Their cookers, however, are crap. You can put your hand on the oven floor when it’s been on full heat for ages they are so useless!

Mines been repaired twice and the next time it goes I'm replacing it, its a pain in the arse and so temperamental, it takes the piss out of me all the time by taking far longer to complete the cycle than the display says. Samsung ecobubble.

I always try to get it repaired, but the last two times our repair man has advised me it wasn't economical. I would always check though!

I had a washer/dryer. It was a pain as the dryer kept turning on by itself. Now have a BEKO washing machine and its fantastic.

This has been my experience. Had a fabulous washing machine by beko, just got rid of a reasonably new crap beko oven. The knobs fell off it too.
