Cant stop as manic here but a quick post to say that TMH gets the award for crappest year so far award.

Your mum will be fine if she has had pox before by the way. Hope DS is ok.

Shannaratiger · 16/06/2008 13:31

Hello everyone

Thought I'd pop back and say hello. Lots of name changes and new people, I'm getting confused, doesn't take much though. Half term followed by DP having 2 weeks holiday has resulted in very little FLYing or computer time adn an expanded waist line.
Am gettign back on the FLYlady wagon though. The sink is looking really shiny. I nwo have three loads of washing to put away (from the weekend ) , ironing never happens so i've given up worrying about it. DS is shouting 'out' at me so i'd better remove him from the highchair and scrub off the peanut butter and honey liberally smeared all over it.

I will come back later with chat if i have time to catch up on some of the weekend and before thread's.

Hope everyone has a good day
BBL

Hownot to

I was the same as you. This time last week (well last Tuesday actually) I started with Babystep 1) By Sunday my dh was ringing up family and inviting them to lunch in amazement. Plus I work out of the home.

I signed up to the Flylady emails which sent me reminder tasks (had to cringe past the Americal smaltzy stuff)!

Keep going.

Anyway as for me. I'm at work today so will have to do the blessing gradually over the next few days.

So far I managed to shine the sink before leaving the house so tonight will be:

Mop kitchen floor.
Hoover upstairs (dh will have done downstairs and dusted)
Empty bins (bin man comes tomorrow)
Lay my clothes out for tomorrow
Wash tea dishes and shine sink

Ludaloo · 16/06/2008 14:42

Hi ladies

hownottodoit · 16/06/2008 14:52

Thanks islandofsodor, it's good to know other people are in the same boat and actually managing it.

Today I have,

Cleared a pile of papers off the top of the microwave that have been there for months.
Phoned bank, and moaned to no avail.
Washed the covers of dd's old car seat ready to sell.
Made lunch.
Put dw on.
Went to Tesco, walked back.
Put shopping away.

Still need to,

pick up dc's
change bed sheets
Start dinner

And about 3 million other things that will have to wait.

dd and i went to feed the ducks earlier and there were lots of little babies several sets of 3 ducks swimming along with their fluffy feathers and one rather large family of moorhens there were 10 fluffy babies! all so very sweet we had lots of fun feeding them they made such cute little noises. dd was fascinated.

i'm off to make dinner now chicken curry tonight. will check what i have scheduled for tomorrow and get it out th efreezer while i'm thinking about it or i will forget

Have a couple of phone calls to make.. supposed to be going on holiday on Friday - no paperwork recieved from KeyCamp and DH's passport is still at the Indian Embassy getting a visa for a work trip.. I am praying that DH's passport makes it back by Thursday.. we are due to leave at 6am Friday!

TheMadHouse · 16/06/2008 16:22

Well is is the pox. Mum should stay away, but not really possible as she is looking after them for me while at the hospital tonight.

Friend has agreed to have them whilst I have my consultant phy appointment tomorrow - they may cart me away

Baby L goes for his PM tonight and my bro and SIL have cancelled their holiday, but their son is going with the rest of the group and the funeral will be once they all return.

I have bought pititon and oats - what else will I need? EV You are the expert

bythepowerofgreyskull · 16/06/2008 16:26

Oh TMH I missed the fact that Baby L had died... that is sooo sad!

Sorry also that it is pox..

Hmm I often wonder about a comfy padded soundproof cell... at least I wouldn't have to hear DH snoring

scattyspice · 16/06/2008 16:34

Right. We're in. Got the shopping.

dyl those ducks sound so cute .

Gonna have a cuppa.

dylsmum1998 · 16/06/2008 16:53

scatty they were, am gonna have to make it a regular trip to watch them grow, i hadnt been there for ages

EustaciaVye · 16/06/2008 16:57

TMH

You need :

  • bicarbinate of soda for the bath. Helps reduce acid in the spots or something and reduces itching.
  • aqueous calamine cream. Much better than normal calamine as it doesnt dry the spots out which causes more itching. And you can actually cover the spots with it as opposed to watch it trickle off...
  • piriton.
  • calpol.
  • nurofen in case the calpol isnt effective for the full 4 hours.
  • how old is DS? I fiund children's magazines a godsend. Free gift, puzzles and new stories were good distraction.
  • maybe a new DVD as an alternative distraction.
  • oversized t-shirts as they wont rub the spots and will cover most bits.
  • nail scissors - cut nails now so any scratching has less effect.
  • oats for bath also good.

Will let you know if I think of anything else.

EustaciaVye · 16/06/2008 16:59

Oh yes, metanium is good on nappy area. And if aqeuous calamine doesnt work use Eurax.

EustaciaVye · 16/06/2008 17:01

Look I'm even sharing my wisdom

Shannaratiger · 16/06/2008 17:04

Xpost TMH really sorry to hear about baby L. Thinkin of you and all your family at this very sad time.

TheMadHouse · 16/06/2008 17:40

Cool - thanks for the advise - he is 3. I have the piriton, calpol, also have this poxclin which was recomended by the pharmacy.

Will get the Eurax

How much biacarb do you add to the bath?

TheMadHouse · 16/06/2008 17:41

I am letting him some wii time, as he is currently itching. I have dosed him up and mum will put him to bed.

I am at the hopspital at 7, so will catch up after then

scattyspice · 16/06/2008 18:31

He might not suffer too much, DD only had it mildly. DS was unwell and itchy for about 24hrs then just spotty but ok. Good luck. (EVs kit sounds good).
