Hoover smells

Hi sorry this is a silly one, but it’s annoying me. My hoover smells so bad. It’s definitely a dog smell, since we got our frenchie. I’ve taken the hoover apart, not the tubes just the debris collector and filter and cleaned thoroughly. It was sparkling. But a few uses later it really smelled again. Any tips. I’m ready to buy a new hoover. Thanks all

I read on here to sprinkle some baking soda on the carrier then hover that up, or sprinkle essential oils in the hoover bag…

I find a bagged hoover is the only way to go.I couldn't get rid of the smell of my Dyson even though I cleaned it, changed filters, watched youtube videos. Now I have a bagged Sebo and once the bag gets full it can smell a little.Change the bag and its fresh again, the smell is gone. You can buy little tabs which go in the bag (or cylinder if bagless) which keep it smelling nice but I pour a couple of tablespoons of washing powder in the bag and it smells great. But honestly ill never have a bagless vacumn again.Recommend Sebo 100% too.

I dab disinfectant on teeny pieces of paper and hoover them up and that works

Thanks all for your tips. I’ll try them x

Change any and all filters that you can. I have a Sebo Felix and that means changing the filter that wraps round the cylinder too. I do that every 6 months or so.
Sebo air fresheners or essential oils in the bags. And baking powder or similar on the carpets.
As pp said, it all works better with a bagged vacuum. I swapped my Dyson for the Sebo for that very reason.

I put a few drops of lavender oil or essential oil of your choice onto cotton wool ball or pad and put it in the hoover bag...

I've read putting ground cinnamon in the bag is a neutraliser and helps eliminate the odour. Good luck, nothing worse x

I got some vacuum discs off ebay, you just hoover one up and it lasts for a good few vacuums. I can't remember the seller now but I think there's a few, just google scented vacuum discs.
