Washing machine bearing grease

The bearings on my old washing machine have gone. A new machine is on order.

However, I now have grease marks all over the last load that went through the old machine which was a load of towels.

Is there anyway of getting the marks out or are the towels only fit for drying the dog off now?

Citrus de-greaser maybe ? Sold in bikeshops and the like. And amazon of course.

Pre-treat the grease with liquid detergent (or dish soap), maybe sprinkle a bit of baking soda, then wash on the hottest safe setting. Check before drying—repeat if needed. Some stubborn marks might only be good for dog towels.

I find DW40 is great for lifting grease/oil even tar that I’d walked in to my carpet from last summers hot weather, off most things. Seriously spray the area and leave for 5 mins ( do a spot test first ) if your towels are ruined already what have you got to lose,
worth a try ?

Bicarb of Soda and White Vinegar

Hi all, thanks for your suggestions. I eventually used soda crystals & bio powder. The stains are mostly out now & I reckon another wash like that will get the rest out. The dog will just have to make do with his old towels! 🤣
