LittleMissNorty · 14/06/2008 19:19

I've got 6 mugs, 4 egg-cups, growing basil, some candied ginger and some pastry cutters ...I also wanted an uncluttered kitchen

NotABanana · 14/06/2008 19:20

hand wash
pot with plug and scourer in it
money plant
2 empty marg tubs
kitchen cleaner spray

I have 1 2 and 3 on a long thin tray which looks naff but helps protect the rtiles a bit from getting filthy.

I was thinking today I want to have a clear window sill and are going to get Dh to take down the blind as we never shut it.

Ambi · 14/06/2008 19:20

Usually nothing but at the mo the handwash is up there, not a fan of stuff on window ledges. A throwback from Mum having loads of tat on every surface.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 14/06/2008 19:21

loads and loads of debris

NotABanana · 14/06/2008 19:21

oh and some parsley

twinsetandpearls · 14/06/2008 19:22

Vase of flowers, utensil pot, tea, coffee, sugar pot, milk jug and teapot.

yomellamoHelly · 14/06/2008 19:22

Basil plant, pot of pens, couple of wine glasses drying, spare nappy nipper, badge ds1 made, remote for ipod speaker and various bits picked up off the floor for putting away at some point. Should be clear really (hasn't been since ds2 arrived 18 months ago!)

ScoobyDoo · 14/06/2008 19:24

A plant pot & a picture of ds, thats it.

Gobbledigook · 14/06/2008 19:24

Don't really like things on window ledges - MIL has EVERYTHING under the sun crammed on hers and it looks minging.

On mine there is a mug with pens it (but it's right at one end hidden behind the curtain) and in the middle a Laura Ashley painted glass jug.

HonorMatopoeia · 14/06/2008 19:24

Radio
Wicker basket full of 'stuff'
Candle
One of those clothes de-hairer things!

IAteRosemaryConleyForBreakfast · 14/06/2008 19:25

Washing up liquid, handwash, scourer and scrubber brush, a (dying, I think) pot plant, a vase and Milton. Bombsite, this whole bloody house

LazyLinePainterJane · 14/06/2008 19:27

a breadbin.

We have a tiny kitchen and if you want it clear, you have to be ruthless.

twinsetandpearls · 14/06/2008 19:27

My pet hate is washing liquid or any cleaner out on display. Don't know why and I am sure there are many more things to be bothered about.

FrazzledFairyFay · 14/06/2008 19:27

radio
washing up liquid
hand soap
orchid in a pot
pot with cloth, dish drush etc in it
DS' dummies

twinsetandpearls · 14/06/2008 19:28

I agree lazyline we were ruthless with ours when getting ready to sell. I was amazed at the shit I had in my kitchen.

TheFallenMadonna · 14/06/2008 19:29

Loads of stuff. I envy people with empty ones. But it's such a good space for a photo.

I have:

-4 pictures in frames. (of me and my twin as toddlers, dd and ds, dh and his best man at wedding, me and dh at our wedding)
-A wooden plaque from Kenya with our names and the date of our wedding inscribed on it. From my sil.
-A silver ring holder in shape of a cat. From my mum But it has dd's hairbands on it instead of rings
-3 bowls from France with mine, dd and ds's names painted on them.
-An egg cup dd painted
-A mini jug from my sister she got us from a holiday.
-A silver garlic soap.

tissy · 14/06/2008 19:36

a large window sill- a window seat really :

a blackboard (about 3 ft x 18 inches)
tin of chalk
cloth
mole wrench
cat food tins
cat food dry
cat brush/ comb
painting by dd
spider-catcher
tub of basil
tub of parsley

TheFallenMadonna · 14/06/2008 19:37

princessmel - that's all decorative!

How do you avoid the tat?

IdrisTheDragon · 14/06/2008 19:38

We have two window ledges in the kitchen.

Front one has:

Treble recorder
Vase with some roses (wilting)
A wooden model of a body
A picture of DD when she was about 1
A little wicker basket with "stuff" in it
A picture of DS when he was 3
A toy cable car from San Francisco
A christening invitation
An egg cup
A picture (framed) that DS did at pre-school
Christening card for christening tomorrow
Toy tractor
Present for christening tomorrow
Wrapping paper for present for christening
A spindle thing with blank CDs on it
Another picture (framed) by DS
A wooden mug with lots of pens and pencils in it

Back window sill (next to the sink):

Bottle of olive oil
Bottle of sunflower oil
Black pepper
Washing up liquid bottle
Bottle of Lemon Barley
Two bottles of Ribena
Kitchen towel holder
Large blue vase with some water but no flowers
Jug with various washing up brushes
Small fire extinguisher

Do I win a prize?

littlerach · 14/06/2008 19:39

Mini chest of drawers - really tiny.

Phone

Box with sunglasses in

Bucket with pens in

LazyLinePainterJane · 14/06/2008 19:41

I find the best way to start is to kick out all non-kitchen stuff. Dh seems so sneak stuff in to the kitchen, screws, magazines, pens and pencils. Get it all out! only kitchen stuff in kitchen
