Washing machine not drawing water

I did a load of washing today and then when I tried to do a second load the washing machine would not draw water. It was as though it was trying to but could not. Any ideas what it could be?

Clean the filter and motor. Usually it means something is caught in it, or blocked with dog hair 🤣 when mine does that

Do you mean its not filling or draining?
If its not draining clean the filter and check the waste pipe.
If it not filling check the water pipe.

Thanks @missspent

hopeful I can get someone to take a look at it this week.

@Alouema2 it’s not filling. Unfortunately I would have to pull out the washing machine and I can’t do that so will have to wait for someone to do that.

Yes, could be the water only pipe, it sometimes gets kinked when the machine jumps about on a spin. Maybe just try to giggle it rather than pull it out - dies the machine look like it’s moved?

The filter usually has a door to empty it at the bottom front of the machine. Open the little door and unscrew or unfold. Loads of water will pour out. Have a baking tray or big towel ready to catch the water because they are always incredibly low to the ground which is a huge pain when you don't have it installed in a cellar room with a drain. The water that comes out might be dirty/smelly.

YY to clean the filter first and see if anything has blocked it - did you wash any new towels or knitwear
See if you can feel the water inlet pipes if it's got a kink in it

We have low water pressure some Sundays , but it also affects the taps and shower .

Thanks all. Will report back!
