Spin speed or door hinge?

What's more important? Please rate 1 (most important) to 3!
Being able to open a washing machine door fully instead of to just over 90 degrees?
A higher spin speed?
Seeing the display from the door of the utility room (rather than having to walk in to see it)?

1 spin speed
2 LG machine with app - no walking needed
3 door

Honestly, I mostly care there has a huge capacity, everything is much cleaner. I love the LG. Big, fast, easy to use and the app does everything for me (except actually load/unload) 😊

From your options
-spin speed
-door
-Seeing from the door wouldnt be of interest at all. My machine (Miele) also has an app so irrelevant to see up close, plus you'd need to touch the actual panel to show how long it has left in its cycle, I cant see it from the door.

My own priority was:
-Raised high on a plinth so not bending down to get clothes in/out
-Capacity and warranty
-An internal light is a nice to have along with autodos. I therefore don't need to add detergent each time, the machine works that out.

Years ago I was looking for a new machine and found a great article about spin speed. I can't find it now, but it was along the lines of that the difference between say 1200rmp and 1400rmp was only about 10-20mins of drying time. I can't recall the exact results. The higher speed can potentially lessen the life of some fabrics though too. That old machine was likely only 800 or maybe 1000 rmp and the newer one was 1400 rmp. The lack of moisture on clothes was very noticeable that time. I've since moved to a 1600rmp and can't say I've noticed any difference from the 1400rmp one.

Edited that I just reread your post. IF the room size is limited and you can't open the door properly, would a top load machine work? I lived abroad where these were the norm. Ignore though if you are putting it into a kitchen under a bench.

Spin speed - faster and longer the spin the less time/energy it takes to dry.

Door opening and seeing the display not bothered as mine is integrated so can't see the display anyway.

If I was buying a standalone machine I would prioritise
Spin speed
Shortest 'full' cycle time, not the crappy 15 mins refresh wash - I want CLEAN clothes
Capacity (less important now DD has moved out)
A display that doesn't lie to me about how long is left before I can get to my wet clothes

Did I mention spin speed?

Spin speed.

oh good point about an app. My current one has one but is out of reach of the WiFi. I'll have to check.
