Can you really switch an electric AGA on and off?

We are seriously considering replacing the failing Aga in our new cottage with a more energy efficient electric AGA which can be switched off partially or totally in summer or during periods of low usage?

Sorry, stopped too soon. Has anyone bought one and do you recommend? One issue is we need either hot plates ie AGA or radiant electric hob. Can’t have induction due to pacemaker.

We have an electric Aga and a regular hob/oven. We switch the Aga off in about April and turn it on again in October. It’s our main source of heat for the winter (plus a log burner in the evening).
