Decluttering

Is anyone else decluttering?
I did my kids room today, pulled all the toys out and really chucked everything that was no good anymore or had broken and replaced for their new Christmas toys. I’m also cleaning behind the fridge after having a good clear out of inside of it. I’m making a promise to myself not to buy cleaning products anymore until I’ve run out because there’s too much.
I did my wardrobe the other day, the kids clothes too but still need to finish it.
if you’re decluttering what have you got rid of? Have you got any tips as I find It difficult knowing where to start.

I follow the TOM cleaning method and spend 30 mins decluttering or deeping cleaning a different room a week on rotation. Now I just go round the rooms of the house in order but in the past when things were a bit out of control I tackled whatever was causing me the biggest issue.

Are you relatively clutter free now? Went through all the kitchen cupboards and drawers today. Feel soo much better

So much better but I have 2 young children so it’s an on going project.

I declutter by type, so all books or all linen and towels rather than by room. This is how I discovered we had nine bottles openers and over 20 extension leads!

I’ve got ask. Where were you keeping 9 bottle openers? Don’t they just live in the kitchen?

Yes, we are decluttering here. Family effort!

We are about to take 3 massive boxes of books to charity, mostly DPs (he still has plenty) and DCs, who kept only a handful of childhood books). Plus clothes that no longer fit/doesn’t make us feel good.

We follow Marie Kondo’s method, doing it category at a time, rather than room by room.

It’s amazing how much better for feel for it. I’ve got rid of loads of stuff now, still got a lot to go. But the house already feels better
