Sensor bin

We have a big stainless steel kitchen bin with a sensor lid. It’s been great for two years but the sensor lid no longer works and I’m fed up with breaking my nails trying to lever the lid open. But I’m loathe to just take it to the tip - it feels very wasteful when the main part is fine. Costco (where I bought it) has been useless when I tried to find a replacement lid. It can’t stay in the kitchen without a lid because it would be too smelly. Any ideas for alternative uses?

I have a bin under my sink with no lid but if it’s large probably won’t fit…

Sadly it’s too big. I’m wondering whether I could turn it into a big planter in my garden!

Have you tried Amazon? We had a similar situation and got a generic replacement sensor lid on there.

Try Espares for a replacement lid?

I shall have a look. I never thought of looking on Amazon.
