Can I wash an electric blanket?

According to the Internet I can wash my electric heated throw ( faux fur) in soapy water. I would simply unplug ( obvs 🙄) . Label says hand-wash at 30 degrees. Am being stupid? How can something with electric wires running through it be safely used after being submerged in water? Anyone any experience of this and lived to tell the tale. TIA

Yep. I wash mine a couple of times a year. It’s fine!

Washed mine yesterday actually, just chucked it in with a shortish 40 degree wash. Dried on radiator. Came out perfectly and I'm currently underneath it lol

Yes, I wash ours and have done for years but they have a ‘socket’ to detach the actual lead with the plug and control on it.

Yes, we was ours, unplugged of course!

I couldn't get my head round this either! Almost paranoid to make sure it was bone dry before plugging back in. chatGPT for the explanation again for me. Still alive!
