Washer/dryer

I’ve always had a separate washing machine and tumble drier, as I like to dry my washing before I air it in the tumble drier.

What are these combined machines like? Are they expensive to run?

They don’t dry anywhere near as well as a separate tumble dryer. And take longer. And you can’t do your next load while it’s drying.

How do you air something in the dryer?

I used to have one and never again! Any laundry I tumble dried ended up smelling damp. It didn’t help that it was integrated in a kitchen cupboard so I couldn’t leave the door open to air it as much as I would have liked.

We’ve got one and it’s absolutely bullet proof. It’s AEG, 11 years old and still going strong. I love that I can put a load in and take it out clean and dry. I just put a wash on most mornings and sort it out in the evening.

I’ve had about 4 now, they all have worked well, never found them that expensive, but you do have to run a really hot wash and add descaler every month or so, to stop it building up.
