How often do you clean?

I do a full clean bathrooms and house every other day. I really struggle to leave it longer. I find it resets my brain. It’s not a deep clean. Just a whizz round with a duster and straightening up the house. How often do other people clean?

Every single day full hoover bathroom clean floors mopped never kitchen left dirty all laundry done and put away

PersephoneParlormaid · 23/11/2025 21:57

Weekly. The kitchen sides get wiped down a couple of times a day

Hoppinggreen · 23/11/2025 21:57

I just do bits when I notice
My cleanr retired recently so I am still getting back into the swing of things
I most certainly don't clean bathrooms in full as frequently as you do though

Iwiicit · 23/11/2025 21:59

It depends how big your house is and what other commitments you have surely? There is absolutely no way I could do as much as that presuming I wanted to, which I definitely do not!

LifeBeginsToday · 23/11/2025 22:00

I tidy / wash up and put dishes away multiple times a day but mop and clean the bathrooms once a week. People always comment how clean my house is. It isn't, it's just tidy.

Do you have a full time job?

Do you have a full time job?

No but I did similar levels when I did

Soundoftheundergrounds · 23/11/2025 22:04

Oops apologies thought that was posted to me

ChocolateCinderToffee · 23/11/2025 22:05

I spend about three hours, twice a week on cleaning, vacuuming and tidying. I do make an effort not to do housework every day.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 23/11/2025 22:08

I do the bathroom and kitchen every day.
Weekly dusting.

I'm very, very tidy. That helps.
I hoover twice a week.

Bufftailed · 23/11/2025 22:10

About every two weeks. Wipe things down/ sweep in between. Food shopping, cooking and washing enough to be getting on with.

ThePoshUns · 23/11/2025 22:12

The kitchen tops are wiped every day and floor hoovered. Bathrooms at least twice a week.
whole house hoovered and dusted weekly. I don’t have the time or inclination to do it more than that.

MiddleAgedDread · 23/11/2025 22:13

Bathroom once every week or two (but throw bleach round the loo in between!)
dusting and hoovering once a week
what counts as cleaning the kitchen? I clean up after I cook etc but every so often I’ll do the sort of cleaning where I anti-bac all the surfaces and move the toaster etc and wipe down cupboard fronts.

Hohumhuee · 23/11/2025 22:15

I hoover everyday (with pets and children it’s necessary) kitchen is left clean after every meal, bathroom is regularly wiped, toilet bleached etc so it only needs a deep clean once a week or so. Wipe woodwork down probably every couple of weeks. Everywhere is clean and tidy except my bedroom, I don’t know what it is but I struggle with that and it seems to collect piles of books, my dressing table is an abomination

Pavementworrier · 23/11/2025 22:15

Probably once a month

My ambition is to one day be tidy enough to get a cleaner in

Kitchendilemas · 23/11/2025 22:17

Occasionally 🙂

movinghomeadvice · 23/11/2025 22:20

3 very young DC and a full-time job, no pets.
Daily - wipe down kitchen bench, sweep kitchen floor, wipe down dining table, sweep under high chair
Every 2 days - hoover living room, dining room, entryway and kitchen
Weekly - bathroom, change linens
Not often enough: toilets, hoover kids rooms and master bed, dusting, deep clean
I’m barely keeping my head above water with it.
DH and I share cleaning responsibilities. I desperately wish I could afford a cleaner.

HeddaGarbled · 23/11/2025 22:26

Proper clean (hoover, dust, bathrooms, kitchen floor) my H does. Aims for once a week but sometimes slips into two if it looks OK.

But I just keep on top of stuff as I go along: wipe the kitchen counters when I do the dishes; spill something on the floor or hob or wherever, clean it up straight away; quick clean of toilet, sink, shower immediately after use if needed.

RosesAndHellebores · 23/11/2025 22:30

Cleaner cleans bathrooms, dusts, mops hard floors and vacuums weekly. It takes her 4 hours.

I keep the kitchen spotless. Worktops wiped down daily, cupboard doors/tiles wiped weekly, fridge wiped out at the end of each week. The house is always tidy, cushions plumped at bedtime. Everything is put away and has a place.

Inside windows and paintwork cleaned every six months (cleaner does an extra day)

TheSmallAssassin · 23/11/2025 22:33

We have a cleaner once a week. We tidy up and wipe down surfaces every day but rarely do any other cleaning.

Raincurrytomatoes · 23/11/2025 22:39

Kitchen worktops, hob/whatever appliance has been used every time food has been cooked. Whole house and bathrooms cleaned weekly.

RowOfRunners · 23/11/2025 22:39

Cleaner - once a fortnight - does everything.

I change our bed once a week

I clean our bathroom and the downstairs loo and change the towels twice a week. Also hoover throughout twice a week.

The kitchen is wiped down every time it’s used. The living room/ kitchen gets hoovered every day.

Occasionally 🙂

Very sensible! I can't imagine why anyone would clean every few days, let alone daily, other than doing the dishes and wiping kitchen counters.

Hohumhuee · 23/11/2025 22:45

I think it’s because of different lifestyles, households and standards of cleanliness Sharon.

Quicksilver15 · 23/11/2025 22:52

Wow, maybe our house is too big or something. We manage to hoover maybe every 2 weeks, I probably mop every 2 months. Bathrooms are unfortunately every 2 months too. It’s just with a baby and young child there’s no time!! We keep it tidy though and don’t have much clutter so it looks mostly fine but I guess people might think we’re disgusting if they knew.
