Do you want to say where you are based @May76?

Have you applied for Attendance Allowance yet?

Sorry the hear about your falls. If you have FB it might be easier to find a cleaner through your local FB group? I would try and read the reviews of anyone offering their services though.

You might be able to find someone through word of mouth too? My DM has just found someone to do her ironing. She also irons for DM friend and she recommended her.

Have you got anyone to help tou search for a cleaner/home help and to apply for Attendance Allowance?

Sometimes there are volunteer groups which offer one off services, if you don't want to employ a cleaner. Check out things like good neighbour scheme.

I’m sorry that you don’t have anyone to help you although you do sound quite capable.

If you’ve had a couple of falls, has your GP suggested a referral to the falls clinic? This, along with a care alarm is usually the standard way of dealing with falls.

If your GP hasn’t suggested a referral to the falls clinic, i would book on to see them and also ask for a referral to OT who can assess your home and make it safer for you.

You should apply for Attendance Aloowance too. It’s not means tested and will help you pay for the help you need.

You can apply here or a local charity, like Citizen’s Advice may be able to help you. Your GP might also have someone who can help with applying.

Attendance Allowance

Attendance Allowance helps with extra costs if you're State Pension age and disabled: rates, eligibility, claim form AA1, claiming due to a terminal illness.

Hi May
AgeUK might be a good place to start. They should help you get something sorted.
