We bought a vintage leather sofa recently, it looks great but it has an odd musty smell, you can only smell it if you get really close. Problem is this smell is setting off my oh’s asthma and he can’t sit on it. It is a fixed unit, chesterfield type so can’t get inside it, no removable cushions.
Things we have tried:
taken off the black webbing underneath and sprayed li erally with anti bacterial febreze.
scrubbed with anti bacterial soap
cleaned with HG leather deep cleaner
cleaned with leather soap
cleaned with renapur
none of this has made any difference to the smell but it’s thoroughly clean!!
anything else we can try?
