The jumper is 50% wool and 50% polyacryl.

Any ideas, oh wise ones?

I should have made hollandaise sauce, he would not have made such a mess with that surely.

er no - cos then you'd be on here asking how to get hollandaise out .I'd try neat washing up liquid as a first line of attack

Kindersurprise · 07/06/2008 19:00

lol, you could be right.

Perhaps I should give him a bib or make him eat in the nude.

pretreat with liquid washing stuff (ariel etc), leave to soak in for an hour, then wash as hot as the garment will allow

EachPeachPearMum · 07/06/2008 19:47

well- you could try ironing between sheets of brown paper- that will lift the grease out properly, and protect the jumper.

In am emergency i've found washing up liquid to work a treat if you wash it straight away afterwards, just a tiny blob, give it a rub in, then put in to wash. Should work fine except on v delicate fabrics.

SlightlyMadSweet · 07/06/2008 19:51

I was going to say washing up liquid. You need a detergent to lift out the fats.

Also Which had an article the other week. They we saying that liquid detergent is better than tablets/powder on fatty stains.

Kindersurprise · 07/06/2008 20:41

Ok, tried the liquid detergent, it is in the wash now.

Thanks for your help.
