Has anyone managed to find a good one which is relatively easy to keep clean? We've had many over the years, mostly the ones which look like carpet and have the woven backs, but they get dirty very quickly from having two dogs. We did buy a Bissell carpet cleaner, but I was pretty underwhelmed by it and the rugs stayed wet for days and picked up that awful damp smell.
Our front door opens directly into the living room and the floor throughout is a now quite old and tired orangey laminate. We're planning on selling soon, so I'm not minded to replace it. DH suggested getting it carpeted, but I think it would get dirty very quickly. I like having the option to mop, but laminate without a rug does get a bit cold in winter. I did buy a small Ruggable a few years back but thought they were quite overpriced really. I do like the idea of being able to put it in the washing machine if needed though.
