DrNortherner · 03/06/2008 16:48

Don't give me that 'in clear plastic boxes with a photo of each one on teh lid' bollocks.

I mean gym shoes/football boots/wellies/timberlands etc etc.

My lovley storage system in my understairs cupboard has collapsed as dh was clearing it to make way for his racer

pookamoo · 03/06/2008 19:03

DirtySexyMummy · 03/06/2008 19:04

Ha ha, its okay.

If anyone knows somewhere thats not ebay, and is cheaper that vivaladiva, I would love to know.

Ottoman at bottom of bed for going out shoes
Wooden shoe rack in utility back door for wellies
Huge basket of everyday shoes by front door of utility

ThingOne · 03/06/2008 19:45

I have my not-everyday shoes on a rack at the bottom of my wardrobe, as does DH. Downstairs we are allowed one pair of wellies and one pair of unworn shoes only. I chuck all the others back upstairs cruelly.

zippitippitoes · 03/06/2008 19:47

well some are in the hepa of rubble in my car that is my steel toe caps and my walkking boots and some sneakers

the rest are either lying on my bedroom floor or in nthe bhall way

HaventSleptForAYear · 10/06/2008 09:47

Okay - new challenge for you. How do you store long boots? I've about 4 pairs of knee boots and no idea how to store them.

Wear them pretty often so put them in individual boxes is just a nightmare!

TIA

HaventSleptForAYear · 10/06/2008 10:10

Rolled up newspaper inside to stop them falling over is a minimum. Otherwise, don't know.

ipanemagirl · 10/06/2008 10:21

here is my personal shoe storage, innit glorious?

Actuallly those are Mariah Carey's!

Ours are in a pile by front door, back door, in understair hell too....

I respect all of you who grapple more effectively than me!

bythepowerofgreyskull · 10/06/2008 10:29

we have this painted white, in a recess by the front door.

jackdaggerette · 17/07/2008 11:48

I've just bought a bunch of those clear plastic shoe boxes from Ebay for my shoes. The seller was crystalclearance and they arrived this morning (bought yesterday!) and are fab - much better than I expected for the price (much cheaper than any others I saw - worked out at about £1.20 a box and free postage). Still quite expensive overall I suppose but very excited about my new tidy shoe collection. Now just need my boot boxes and boot shapers to arrive and will be all set with scarily tidy wardrobe! Am I very sad to be really excited about this?

lucysmam · 17/07/2008 14:31

drnortherner, mine are all in their original boxes with pics on the front, simply because i own about 200pairs and they're mostly girly high heeled things that I hardly get chance to wear any more but I love shoes so like to keep them nice.

As for lo's, theyre in 2 boxes in her wardrobe and wellies in cupboard under stairs, oh's footy boots, work boots are in same cupboard and his smart shoes are in a drawer under the bed out of the way because he hardly ever wears them

lucysmam · 17/07/2008 14:34

long boots all lined up in bottom of wardrobe with boot shapers that you blow up in them so they keep their shape and stay nice

SqueakyPop · 17/07/2008 14:35

We keep ours in big heaps. I don't recommend it.

Katiekins83 · 17/07/2008 15:14

hi! those shoe boxes are very expensive and there is the hasstle of putting them in and out all the time, i have two large wooden boxes from ikea for my everyday shoes, you can also get them in a double one which i have upstairs for Ds shoes and other bits. or if you have a home bargins near you, they are much cheaper than that sight, about £3 for 3! if you want them for you nice shoes!

girlnextdoor · 17/07/2008 15:32

everyone's are in boxes either under bed, in wardrobes, and wellies in garage/utility room.
Long boots stand up in my wardrobe. Use boot trees are rolled up newspaper.

girlnextdoor · 17/07/2008 15:33

puss in boots

I store my long boots either in the original box, laid flat on floor of wardrobe, or standing in wardrobe, out of box, with either foam boot trees or rolled up newspaper to keep them standing upright.

DoubleBluff · 17/07/2008 15:34

ihave an empty shoerack in my wardrobe with all my shoes in a big pile in front of it.
I just open door and toss them in.
